Pilates Reformers and Other Equipment

Reformer Equipment
reformerUsing specialized equipment, like the Reformer,  helps to restore a youthful, more mobile and healthier functioning body through each exercise.  Through resistance movements on these specialized machines you are training to help prevent injuries and see greater results in a very profound way.  With the use of the pulley system and springs, a carriage that you either lie on, sit on, stand or kneel on, slides forward and back, supporting your weight and joints in a safe manor from heavy impact or jarring on the joints.  Light equipment  used on the mat are provided to ensure resistance to the body with toning balls, fitness circles, flex bands, stability balls, etc creating more variety and challenge in your work out.

The Kalijo Pilates Dance & Health Studio uses the Stott Pilates Rehab Reformer, Professional Reformer and Cadillac Tower, as well as Stability Chairs adding an impressive workout to your growing Pilates repertoire.  Adding the use of springs (weight) and a pulley system (resistance) that works against your body’s own range of motion and coordination,  you are exposing yourself  to a FULL BODY WORKOUT.  It allows you to tone, strengthen and find more flexibility and mobility throughout the body and joints.  For some it has help bring inches to their spine!  The carriage that you sit, lie, kneel or stand on moves freely with control on the rails.  This unique piece of fitness equipment supports you through rehab exercise programs and works well in any cross training program you may need to be strengthening the core!  Reformer Privates, Semi and Group Equipment classes are offered throughout the week with all Certified Pilates Instructors.
